Nelson Kise
Superintendent, Sodus Central School District

Nelson Kise has dedicated over 35 years to serving the students and families of Wayne County. With a Bachelor’s in Social Work from SUNY Brockport and a Master’s in Social Work from Syracuse University, Nelson went on to complete advanced studies in Educational Administration and the Superintendent Development Program at SUNY Oswego.
His career in education includes leadership roles as Assistant Principal and Principal at multiple schools in the Sodus and Lyons school districts. For the past nine years, he has served as Superintendent of Schools for the Sodus Central School District - a rural, high-poverty district in Upstate New York serving approximately 1,100 students from UPK through 12th grade.
A strong advocate for the community schools model, Nelson believes in the power of partnership. He has made it a priority to welcome parents and community organizations into the school system, fostering a collaborative environment to help every child thrive.
