Vaughn Faison

Grammy-Nominated Artist and Performer

Vaughn Faison graduated from Lyons Jr. Sr. High School in 2010. He graduated from SUNY Fredonia with a B.S. in Applied Music in 2015, and from The University of North Texas with an M.M. in Jazz Performance (voice) in 2019.

He started his performing career playing venues in Lyons and Geneva. While at SUNY Fredonia he performed with the Cleveland Jazz Orchestra and the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra. After moving to Texas in 2017, he was connected to the event band industry and sang with the Emerald City company of bands. In 2020 he joined Kings Return. Since then, Kings Return has had millions of streams on their videos, toured the country, and received a Grammy nomination. Some other highlights include opening for Jay Leno, singing with David Foster and Katharine McPhee, and performing at The Kennedy Center.

As a writer, Faison has written for artists and companies all over the world. Some highlights include writing music and lyrics for Street Fighter 6 (2023) and The Toxic Avenger (2025).

As an educator, Faison has most recently taught at Interlochen Center for the Arts as a songwriting instructor. He has also taught many students in voice, guitar, and music production from his private studio.

The New York State Community Schools Thruway Coalition has formed as a state-wide coalition to propel the exploration and implementation of community schools throughout New York State.
